Eucalyptus Oil

Eucalyptus essential oil is distilled from the leaves of the eucalyptus tree and has a penetrating and refreshing smell. Eucalyptus has antiseptic, anti-bacterial, and pain relieving properties and is used in numerous preparations to treat and relieve symptoms and has a cleansing effect on the skin and coat and reduces redness and irritation.

Tea Tree Oil

Melaleuca alternifolia (Tea Tree) is a coniferous tree, native to Australia. Its leaves contain an essential oil that is used both in medical and cosmetic products. Tea Tree Oil has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity against bacteria, yeasts and fungi, which helps to fight infections and helps keep pet’s skin and coats clear and healthy.

Lavender Oil

Lavender oil has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and skin-healing properties and is well known for its calming, relaxing effects on the pet. Lavender oil is generally regarded as one of the most useful and versatile essences. It is helpful where there is inflammation. It is considered as a skin and coat rejuvenating agent.

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil is an excellent antiseptic and astringent. Peppermint is a cooling, relaxing herb that contains properties that help ease inflamed tissues, and inhibit bacteria and microorganisms. It also has pain-relieving and infection-preventing qualities. Due to its antiseptic properties, peppermint oil is commonly used in dental care products. Peppermint oil is a non-toxic mouth freshener, it removes bad breath and helps teeth and gums deal with germs.

Rosemary Oil

Essential oil of Rosemary is extracted from the above ground parts of the plant by steam distillation and has a strong and penetrating herbal aroma. Rosemary oil is a natural aromatic extract with anti-oxidant, antiseptic and astringent properties, which is also known to stimulate circulation. It is included in natural pet grooming products for its antioxidant properties and its fragrance.

Sunflower Oil

Sunflower Oil is extracted from the seed of the sunflower plant and used as an emollient (softens and soothes the skin). Sunflower oil is rich in essential fatty acids, lecithin and vitamins A, B, D and E minerals.

Macadamia Oil

Macadamia oil is a plant-derived (Botanical) ingredient, cold pressed from the nuts of Australian macadamia trees. The oil has a high anti-oxidant content and deep skin penetrating properties, which make it ideal for dry skin. Macadamia oil is very gentle and is absorbed rapidly into the pet’s skin, giving the product a silky luxurious feel.

Mango Butter

Mango butter is cold pressed and rendered from the seed kernel of the Mango tree. Mango Butter has beneficial moisturizing properties, and unlike other butters like shea butter and cocoa butter, mango butter has a wound healing qualities.

Kakadu Plum

Kakadu Plum is a native tree found exclusively in the Northern Territory of Australia. The Kakadu Plum fruit has the highest known Vitamin C concentration of any single natural food source in the world, making it an excellent antioxidant. Indigenous Aborigines have used this plant and its fruit extensively for food as well as for its traditional healing properties which include anti fungal, antiviral and anti inflammatory benefits.

Stevia Leaf Extract

Stevia leaf extract is a natural sweetener, derived from the plant Stevia rebaudiana. Stevia leaf extract is commonly used in dental products, toothpastes and mouthwash as it is non-toxic and beneficial for dental cavities. Research has shown that Stevia leaf extract provides a sweetness that does not ferment in the presence of bacteria, and therefore does not cause tooth decay or tooth cavities. In the mouth wash products formulated by Divine Cosmetics, Stevia leaf extract is used as a natural sweetening agent to mask the bitter taste of grapefruit seed extract and the metallic taste of zinc, making the products more palatable to pets.

Grapefruit Seed Extract

Grapefruit seed extract is a broad spectrum antimicrobial compound derived from ground grapefruit seeds. Grapefruit seed extract contains high levels of vitamin C and E, and bioflavonoids, and is useful in the treatment of a variety of dental complaints including tooth plaque, gum disorders and halitosis. Grapefruit seed extract has been extensively tested and proven safe and effective for dental applications, as it is non-toxic, environmentally safe and has no known side effects.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is known as one of the most healing and effective anti-oxidants in the skincare world today, it protects the skin and fur from everyday environmental exposure and damage caused by lifestyle. Vitamin E is an essential fatty acid which helps form the membranes that protect the skin cells, preventing the formation of dry, scaly skin.

Zinc Salts

Zinc salts are derived from Zinc, a naturally occurring mineral. Zinc Salts are considered anti dental plaque substances. They act upon bacterial plaque, eliminating the microorganisms that cause it and inhibit the formation of the plaque’s matrix. In Divine Pets mouth wash products, Zinc salts help prevent tartar buildup by preventing plaque from forming hard deposits (calcifying) on the pet’s teeth. Zinc salts also help prevent gingivitis by inhibiting the accumulation of bacteria on the pet’s teeth and gums.

Coconut Derived Shampoo Base

Tommy Dog Tea Tree Shampoo base is made from two mild surfactants – Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SELS) and Cocamine oxide. The shampoo base is derived from coconut and palm kernel oils; it foams and thoroughly cleanses and is perfect for pet shampoos. SLES is a gentler alternative for your pet, compared to the more commonly used sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS).

Natural Conditioner Base

The Tommy Dog natural conditioner base contains Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol (plant wax) and Cocobetaine. Cetyl Stearyl Alcohol is an emulsifier and thickening agent derived from palm and coconut oils. It is not actually an “alcohol”, which would dry the skin, but rather a wax that leaves your pet’s coat with a soft, velvety feel. Cocobetaine is a natural surfactant derived from the fatty acids of coconut. It has antiseptic properties and won’t irritate or dry your pet’s skin.

Natural Conditioning Agent

Allantoin is a natural active ingredient that can be found in comfrey plants. Allantoin has a moisturizing effect and promotes the healing of skin. Allantoin is said to increases the smoothness of the skin because it hastens the growth of healthy tissue.

Vegetable Guar Gum

Vegetable guar gum is used as a thickening and emulsifying agent in pet grooming products. It is a 100% natural ingredient made from the ground-up, nutritive seeds of the guar bean. Vegetable Guar Gum is a natural thickener and a moisturiser that has skin smoothing and softening properties.

Vegetable Glycerine

Vegetable glycerine is a natural (100% plant based) humectant that helps the skin and coat retain moisture by attracting water from the air, holding it, and then slowly releasing the moisture into the skin. Vegetable glycerine helps to keep skin supple and the pet’s coat feeling soft. The properties of vegetable glycerin also helps soothe sore gums and mouth irritations.


Phenoxyethanol is a Paraben and Formaldehyde free preservative. It is a bactericide, often known as Rose ether. It is used to help preserve the integrity of products and prevent bacterial contamination. All products need preservatives to keep them free of bacteria. The paraben family of preservatives (methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, ethylparaben) are the most commonly used preservative and are well known to cause skin irritation. All Divine Pet products are free from paraben preservatives.
